I've been in school disciplinary situations before and this is not even remotely how they play out especially in the case of one student assaulting another.

I'm surprised her daughter wasn't named Albert Einstein and a passing commuter train didn't stop and universally applaud these strong women.

Im guessing, this didnt happen that way though...this is too much like the other recent one, same scenario, so Im thinking its a copycat trend. Same scenario, daughter got suspended for assaulting someone bothering her, mom got pissed, got lawyers, didn't do any good. It was on reddit like 3 weeks ago.

Doesn't matter how much someone bullies you in school these days, you can't assault them with physical violence. Schools have 0 tolerance policies for physical violence, and they stand behind them. They don't back down if a student commits violence.

Granted- I think the mother's response was exactly appropriate... but...

If the boy's behavior and school's attempt to punish her for defending herself is so awful... why do we find it acceptable when the victim is a young boy?

Think about wedgies, and give me even one good reason why those are any more acceptable, any less humiliating, painful, dehumanizing, or sexually exposing/harmful than a bra-snapping.

Think about any kid who's ever defended himself from a bully and gotten in trouble because he was male, and male violence is bad, no matter the excuse. Casey Heynes was on tape, in clear-cut, beyond-question self-defense and STILL got expelled.

Think about any guy- of any age- who defends themselves when sexually or physically assaulted by a woman/girl.

Schools have always ignored bullying. Schools have always punished boys who "act out," even if they're doing so in defense, or with just cause.

But a girl gets that same treatment, and it's unacceptable and "sexist."

Maybe... it should just be unacceptable all the way around.

[EDIT: Of course, this story is also making the rounds of certain other subs, to cheers and choruses of praise under the assumption of entrenched sexism. No one I've seen so far has seriously (or at least successfully) pointed out that this is school zero-tolerance/intelligence meeting age-old bullying... both of which typically affect young boys far, far more often.]

To be honest, I think it's a bullshit story.

It just says "This is what I wanted to say but didn't..." to me.

I also don't care that this kid was snapping her bra. I don't mean that he should be allowed to do anything like that but the moment she punched him she lost all sympathy from me. Having your bra snapped is not equal to a couple punches in the face. Had he punched her square in the face then sure, that would have been grounds for his expulsion...so it should be the same for her. After all, she didn't do it just once.

I think most people would even agree that had she only punched him once, no real harm done...good enough. Two or more just says entitled little bitch princess to me. She knew he wouldn't punch her back so who's doing the bullying at that point ?

He deserved something. Maybe even a punch. Nothing more.

The irony is strong with this one. After stitching up a boy brutally assaulted by a woman, you might expect a different reaction when she learns her daughter brutally assaulted a boy. Should have started, "I just came from dealing with this obnoxious kid who made his mother beat him because he wouldn't stop crying..." Feminism is vigilante, vindictive justice. She never once mentions the actual assault, but instead focuses on the cause of the assault. The cause never justifies the assault! The girl could have called him a jerk, moved her seat, twisted his titty, told her friends to protect her, grabbed his crotch even, but she goes full psycho, and she would have had to go full psycho to draw blood from a guy that much bigger. The mom will realize her mistake though, when she's stitching up her seven year old grandson.

IF this story is true, then the boy deserved the response he got from both the girl and her mother. And the teacher got the lecture he surely deserved.

However, the whole story seems a little too scripted and one sided to me. But then again, I'm naturally skeptical.

Did you bother to read the story? Now if you had posted a different story where the teacher and headmaster and daughter and other witnesses say another thing happened, and that the girl punched the boy, then you're in the right. She was in fact defending herself. You make us look bad by posting stuff like this, with such a misleading title and expect us to share sympathy.
