I see no problem with this, if we allow men's only golf tournaments, then women's only video game tournaments should also be allowed. If one is allowed, both should be allowed. The only thing that annoys me is the hypocrisy of radfems who will applaud a women's only anything, but will turn around and fight tooth and nail to shut down a men's only thing.

The thing about trans people is what's to stop me from just saying I'm trans even if I'm not? What because I don't look feminine I couldn't be trans? Heh, so women have to be feminine to be women?

How could they say I wasn't trans without being sexist towards women, or transphobic? An all male team should join this tourny claiming to be transwomen; might teach these SJWs a lesson about logic.

Does this mean a trans-woman would qualify for the team? If the method of gender identification wouldn't fly in the Olympics, I don't see why it should apply here. Men and women are definitely very different physiologically, which is why they're separated in most formal sporting events. Just because you identify as a different gender, you don't turn those physical characteristics off.

I am with ManWomanMyth on this one (he gave his opinion on the changes to UFC, and I think they're salient): I watch sports to see the best of all people. I don't care about "best female team", I care about the best team. Women are generally worse than men at League. If they want to have a kiddy pool for women, I don't really care.

I think it's a misappropriation of funds, but the game is free to play. If Riot runs kiddy pool (female-exclusive) tournaments, I'll keep watching the pro games where the real action is.

Having said that, this does dilute the spirit of competition in the game. Right now, the game is plenty competitive enough, but if things start getting wonky (e.g. token females playing or shoutcasting the LCS), I'll stop buying skins and email Riot, I guess. For now, League is mostly about League, and this kind of thing, although symbolically annoying, is irrelevant. The male space is already there: it's called the LCS. If the LCS ever becomes mostly women, I'll start asking for a male-exclusive kiddy pool, but for now, I'm happy to let the women derp around in their own bad plays.
