Honestly, I think she should keep it quiet.

She regrets it, she's obviously not going to do it again.

By her confessing to her husband, she releases her guilt, but destroys her husband and greatly affects or destroys her marriage.

There's no benefit to telling her husband.

If this was an ongoing thing I think the husband should know, but it wasn't, so all that would happen is hurting her husband.

These things used to greatly anger me too, but now I see it's mostly an artifact of commitment and possibly an inevitability due to female nature coupled with an accepting culture. They nearly can't help it. Don't commit to women and you're safe from this. Get a vasectomy and the only thing you have left to fear is if she decides to falsely accuse you of rape or otherwise have you incarcerated. Women can't love you. They have an intense high for you that can last around a year. When that ends they get confused and distraught. You are a means to an end. They are addicts for this high and will pursue it anywhere they find it. Try to understand. Drug addicts live incredibly hard lives. Pity them; you can find joy elsewhere, a lot of them can't.

If you want a family then your aim should be to impregnate a woman the amount of times you want after which you should try to negotiate a custody agreement to your liking. Don't let yourself be fooled into this fairy tale about faithfulness and love. These are concepts you've been lied to about. Women live the lie thinking each new high is love. Its pursuit reinforced by endless portrayals in entertainment and literature. Don't end up a victim of it. Don't be angry. Be free.
