It should not be forgotten that this man died because NYC bureaucrats needed to collect a regressive cigarette tax.

I don't think his story is one as an example of a mens rights issue. If you want to come from and stay with that men overall are the majority of victims of police brutality are male then go for it. But this story seems like more race baiting even though there seems to be no evidence of racism.

The police most likely were in the right in this story. If you want a story about police needlessly killing an unarmed person then look at Gilbert Collar. Sadly this is a white kid being killed by a black officer so it won't get much attention.

As tragic as mr. Garners death was, it had bnothing to do with police brutality. He was placed under arrest and resisted. The officers brought him to the ground. The "chokehold" that he was placed in did nothing to block his air supply as evidenced by his repeatedly talking. In fact, after he was brought to the ground the officer released the hold and held his head down until Mr. Garner was handcuffed. EMS was called as a precaution and attended to. He was lifted into an ambulance by the officers and emts. He was breathing when they put him in the ambulance. He died of a heart attack.

Speaking from my own experience, suspects will routinely claim an inability to breathe when apprehended as it will automatically elicit concern and sympathy from people who don't realize they are lying. Given the circumstances, it is mostly mass ignorance on the part of the public, as usual, fueling the outrage. Go ahead and downvote away. I call it as I see it with no apologies.
