SHORT AND SWEET Reason for divorce: She's a primadona. She views herself as no. 1 and not the child. Horrible parent. Nearly impossible to prove as long as the child is healthy. I didn't see this until later after we had a child. We: married 4 years (2.5 happily), 1 perfect child She: $35K p/yr prior to marriage. Switches to cash only jobs before divorce making a stated $18K p/yr. Me: $145K p/yr (25 yrs of hard work and school loans). Settlement: $1,100 p/mo x 2 years alimony. 100% daycare @ $1000 p/mon Day care. 100% medical for child at +$300 p/mon. I took +40K in debt, she takes half 401K and IRA for duration of marriage. +$25K

Alimony + her portion of daycare + her portion of medical would be: approx $1,500 p/month. I barely make ends meet right now as a result. She's vacationing every 3rd month, and barely works. She also receives child support from another ex.

End result: $36,000 in income to her of my net not including the savings/retirement cash i owe her. It takes me approximately $50K of my gross income to make $36K net. I have to spend a good 5 months working to earn that money for her. It's almost forced labor to work for someone else. No matter how you look at it, she had an equal if not, greater hand in the dissolution of this marriage, yet i'm the one doing hard time labor working for her. This is all under the guise of "support" to help her back into the work force (which she never left) and to upgrade her lifestyle for the child. Yeah, we all know how that works. What is her incentive to get back into the work force?

I'm disgusted with it all, every single day for the past few months. The taste has never left my mouth. My attorney thinks we had a great victory and it very well could have been much worst since the income disparity. My attorneys costs me $20K.
