Women: Which one? Some are awesome. Some are assholes. They aren't all the same.

Feminists: Are usually women, but sometimes are men. Depending on the brand they may be misguided (ifeminists and equity feminists are pretty cool, radfems, TERFs, gender feminists, etc. not so much). Also, see above.

Women are human beings just like us. We demand our rights as human beings. As such nothing we demand reduces the rights of women.

For example; Female Genital Mutilation is a crime, as it should be. Male Genital Mutilation (circumcision) should be too as both violate the autonomy of children.

Etc.

Feminism on the other hand is an ideology held to varying degrees by women and men. Many of us disagree with much of this ideology and find it harmful. Some of us consider themselves both MRAs and Feminists. However, being anti-feminist doesn't mean you're anti-equality and it doesn't mean you're anti-women.

The binary feminists insist on: "You're a feminist or a misogynist" makes them sound like George Bush "Either you are with us or with the terrorists". I only put that in because they're some pretty nasty feminists that lurk this site and I know they're fans of W.

My view is that men and women should be treated equally. I see men and women as equally capable, of both good things and bad things.

While most MRMs are egalitarians, most feminists seem not to be. Feminists typically only look at issues from women's perspectives and consequently come to biased conclusions. As a result, in their attempt to fight against gender roles, they reinforce gender roles that harm men.

For example, take domestic violence. Feminists usually portray it as men abusing women, perpetuating the stereotype that men are violent and women are not. However, in reality, women abuse their partners as often as men do. Rape is similar. Feminists say things like "teach men not to rape" or "only men can stop rape", which marginalizes male victims.

Or look at feminist views on language. They are against gendered language that harms women, such "slut", but use anti-male gendered language such as "mansplain" or "mantears", they call men "virgins" as an insult, etc.

There's also the idea that men are ashamed to talk about their problems, which is attributed to patriarchy. However, when men discuss their issues in the presence of a feminist, they're frequently told to check their privilege or mockingly told "oh no, wut about teh menz?" or "waaaah, men have it sooo hard".

I do have another question, slightly off topic. But is this considered official web material of the MRA: http://www.avoiceformen.com/

Is it their main site? Or considered to be a valid "front cover" type page that frames the direction of the movement well? Potentially at its best? Or worst. I realize like any political movement, it is entirely possible there are a range of groups who might shape the MRA a little differently from the next, running a gamut of moderate stances and extreme ones. I'd like to know what webpage is considered to be central and possibly the most widely accepted.

Women mostly suck, but as long as they aren't lying about me or taking away my freedom, I don't have a problem with them. But feminists are straight-up evil.
