Just curious.. I know it's an option.. from what I understand you can file the paperwork (about like $500 or so if using lawyer I think).. and then not serve the papers.. so that the date you filed counts towards any money spent after, or anything like getting more stock in a company, etc. At least thats my understanding of it. It locks the date in similar to if you separated. I am curious if you leave the home (I know.. I KNOW.. dont leave the home) does that count as an actual separation date and holds up as the date anything after is separate.. e.g. buy a house/car, raise, etc?
