Child support- realistic estimates ?

Theoretically at equal incomes, 50/50 overnights, should be zero cs. Every state is different but most have some variation of that model and some include daycare and health insurance in the base calculation. The ones that don’t still make you pay your share, but it’s not called child support.

Depends on the state. The online calculators for most states are usually pretty good and judges don't deviate a whole lot from them.

If you have 50% parenting time and both have similar incomes, there is zero reason for child support or spousal support.

I am going through a divorce as well in NJ and my lawyer said that if custody is granted at 50/50 then there should be no child support as each parent is expected to care for the children in whatever capacity they can when in their care.
