My wife has been extremely controlling of the home environment since children/COVID. She always seems the external instead of working on us. (New puppy, going back to school, flight lessons etc). Recently I painted her into a corner about how was there supposed to be time for us if she kept doing other things. Her only response was "What for?" Needless to say we had a talk...one in which she informed me she had seen an attorney in February and wanted an amicable divorce.

That was a month ago and we met with a mediator about a process called collaborative divorce. It at least seems like a way to keep us from fighting during the process but other than that I see no advantages. I basically want 50/50 custody and my share of marital assets. My main issue is that she wants the kids to go to private school (they are 2 and 4) while we currently live in a good school district for the public schools. Is there a good way to make the public school thing happen as the dad? Does anyone have experience with this? Anyway, I've been stressed to the max and this group has been providing support just by hearing the stories for the last month and knowing I'm not alone. Thanks fellas.
