I’m new here. My wife refuses to get a new job. Her current job pays her $15 an hour. She’s 44. I make more than double her hourly wage. I’ve asked her numerous times to look for another job because quite frankly, her pay is shit. Teenagers at McDonalds get paid more than her an hour. I will say that it just boils down to her employer not paying her well. Even if her employer gave her a $2 raise it wouldn’t be enough w/ the mount of debt we have. She sees me stressed, we have no savings, unnecessary personal loans, and there’s no changing on her part. I thought there would be. I’ve told her that I want some time apart because I’d rather be broke and lonely then feel like she’s literally a ball and chain keeping me from moving forward. I’d love to hear someone, anyone’s thoughts.
