Sounds like a horrible arrangement. Of course, depends on the age of the kids. If they are old enough to be left home alone… of course, if you are being discreet about your dating life it’s still a problem.

I have a 6 & 9 year old. The custody schedule we use is called a 2 2 3. Week 1: I have them Monday & Tuesday, she has them Wednesday & Thursday and then I have them Friday- Sunday. Week 2 it just flips. Works out to 50% of the time over 2 weeks and it allows the kids to see both parents with no more than 3 days in between. The only real negatives are: a) planning any kind of real trip means asking the ex to take them extra days; b) it means I sometimes have to see the ex mid week to exchange items for the kids.
