This is more advice for you, as his friend. Be present. Call him. Invite him over to watch a game, or go fishing or a bbq or anything. Get him out of the house. Talk with him and ask him about him, how’s he doing/how can you help/mental health/etc.

Men lose friends with a divorce. Some men are uncomfortable with divorce situations and avoid their friends going through it and want to avoid the difficult conversations. Don’t avoid the difficult conversations, he needs to be able to talk with someone.

You’re a good buddy for asking. Support him as he is going through a bag of sh!t right now.

Stay put. Tell him to stay put. Also start memorizing everything about the two kids (teachers, bullies, doctor, soc security numbers clothing size, everything. Finally, start documenting all the good he does. If she does something agregious, document that. (Swearing in front of the kids doesn't matter).

Listen to me! It takes 6 -12 months to get past this. You are on your way only when you accept its over. Woman get over it fast, cause theyve usually have checked out long before. Their regrets may or may not come later, believe me. In the long run, men can fair better. It is very hard to find a good man. Your problem, you dont know your worth. Your healing begins in your mind. Be your own best friend. Pamper yourself. Join a gym, transform. Learn to love being alone and do things by yourself, museums, sporting events, restaurants, walks, pubs, etc.... whatever you love to do. SPOIL YOURSELF....great tickets, great cuts of beef, trips, whatever floats your boat. DO IT! Doing things by yourself builds and shows confidence. Confidence is unbelievably attractive, but it must be genuine. Trust me. Re-invent yourself, be who YOU want to be. The love of your life is out there waiting to meet you. That can't, and won't happen, until you have fully healed. The longer you take to heal, the longer you will keep the true love of your life waiting. 2.)Don’t leave the house, sign anything, or make any kind of concession until lawyer okays it.

3.) Prepare for gaslighting, psychological hand grenades, the weaponization of guilt and a complete rewriting of the narrative to justify her flippantly breaking the whole “till death do us part” vow.

4.) Don’t internalize it..it’s not about you.

As a guy, I know it's totally uncool to show weakness to other guys. But just tell him that it's going to be a long rough road of emotions. Let him know you will be there every step of the way and help him weather this storm. Most importantly, tell him it's not for details but for him.

When going through this, I put on the happy face and made it look like nothing was wrong, but when alone, I fell apart. Let him know it's ok and you are there for him.

Tell him to get a lawyer. If he didn't know that , he's not equipped to do this on his own.
