I live in Michigan and am going through an amicable divorce. I have a lawyer and she does not. She did not want one. Despite her having an EA and destroying me in the process, I have engineered a more than fair divorce.

The court date is set to occur in a little over two weeks. My lawyer has told us that only myself and her need be in the court room. My spouse need not attend.

I am concerned that if she does not show up, it could hurt my settlement or my spouse depending of the judges views. She still is the mother of my kids and we have everything set where friend of court is being told to pound sand.

Has anyone been through a hearing where the spouse never showed up? How did it go for her not showing up?
