It's a rebound. She's trying to find fulfillment in this new partner but, if she hasn't taken the time to take stock of herself and see her shortcomings from the relationship with you, she's doomed to repeat them. The relationship in all likelihood won't last and when they break up, she may contact you. If you dont have children with this woman, go no contact. You'll save yourself a ton of grief, maintain self respect and increase your chances of getting back together (if that's what you want). It's so much easier to write then follow through. Going through a rough breakup of my own right now. Good luck brother, heartache is extremely painful and I feel you. Concentrate on yourself.

OP, I get that you're going through an emotional roller coaster but why on God's green earth would you ever consider getting back with someone who had an affair? My ex cheated on me the week before our marriage and I didn't find out until about six months later. I should have divorced her then and there. I chose to forgive her and do the "Godly thing" after speaking with friends and family, and low and behold, she cheated again a decade later. Kick her to the curb. Someone who cheats on a partner/spouse is not to be forgiven once. One chance, per person, per lifetime.

She's likely going to struggle with "relationship ADHD" if not on medication combined with therapy and personal introspective work / reading.

It's a very common issue with ADHD and women often aren't diagnosed until later in life, which does tend to lead toward the compounding issues of anxiety, OCD, and depression, etc.

Most likely everyone that knows her knows she tends to hyperfocus on things for a little while, then get bored with them. It's a common trope on r/ADHDmemes - "The ADHD walk of shame" when you have to tell friends and family the thing you were SO EXCITED ABOUT 4 months ago, you aren't interested in doing at all anymore.

So yeah, they probably know her to be "just like this".

It’s over. You need to stand tall and accept it for what it is. Odds are in your favor that she’ll find her way back to you. But you need to have some self respect and regain your dignity and say “NOPE!” Because she’ll just fucking do it again and you’ll be even older then…

It’s tough, it’ll be tough for awhile. So much healing ahead of you. Keep plowing ahead with the divorce. Don’t even think about other women, think about yourself and your kid right now. Priority now should be how you can be a happy-healthy man. Self improvement. What gets you there is up to you.

First of all, dude she's not coming back. You've been separated 3 months and she's already back with an Ex? She's gone for good for you.

As for why your friends are saying it won't last, I don't know. Maybe they know the history of the 2 together and know they aren't long term. But what I do know is that you two are also done. Pull the trigger already on the divorce my man.
