I cant help but feel like my pending divorce is a failure for me at times. I feel embarrassed and ashamed to tell people what I'm going through. I pick up my kids at daycare or go to the playground and see all these couples together. 12 out of the 15 people i directly work with are married and some with kids. Seems like everyone else's marriage is working put but mine. When people do learn about my situation they are shocked. Shocked because we never aired out our dirty laundry. To everyone else we seemed perfect.

I heard a joke from the comedian Chris Rock that goes something like... "50% of couples get a divorce. The other 50% are too scared to leave." This got me thinking. Maybe we don't all know what's really going on in other relationships the way people didn't know about mine. Maybe the people that stay in the bad marriages see our divorce as a success while they see themselves stuck in a bad marriage as a failure.

While getting this divorce goes against my beliefs, maybe I should start to view it as a success in my life. Moving on and moving forward. Maybe you should see it that way too.
