Read and understand your County's application for a TRO - know, by heart, what the criteria is for getting one and be capable of articulating those exact words that appear in the application. If the mother becomes aggressive, you should be making certain statements in the recording as you leave the area - those are derived from what is necessary for a TRO. If the police are called, when you are interviewed out by the curb, you need to clearly give the Police the elements needed in their investigation, and the resulting report. If there has been physical contact, you need to understand what is necessary for the mother to be arrested for Domestic Violence.

Be aware if the mother uses that same TRO Application terminology; words like Harassing, Threatening, Stalking, Fear for ones safety, lalala - if she has legal advice, it has included instructions on a TRO. Mandatory reporters must ask her if she fears for her safety at home, if presented with signs of abuse - she has far more resources in this area than you. Make sure you can recognize the early warning words used just prior to an application for a TRO by her.
