I hate the clear double standard when it comes to domestic violence. My stbx showed up at midnight after having had a few drinks on night 4 of my 5 day stretch with the kids, yelled to wake all the kids up, came upstairs and started hitting me repeatedly until I called the police and retreated to my children’s bedroom.

Cops show up, take stories, give her a breathalyzer and then transport her to her brother’s house.

I picked up the police report and absolutely no mention of the alcohol she had admitted to consuming nor the fact that a breathalyzer was performed nor why she couldn’t drive herself.

I just can’t help but think how I would’ve been treated if I had done the same. It’s just such bullshit that because I can take a punch there’s not even a slap on the wrist for her.

I’ve requested the officer call me to amend the report with all the details of what transpired that night.
