Met with my lawyer after having paid the retainer and got the petition for divorce filed today! There’s definitely rough days ahead but I am one small step closer to the next chapter for myself and my children and the situation was so shit that this feels more like a congratulations than a condolences as odd as it is. I was so fucking unhappy and dismissed for so fucking long. Time to unbury myself from somebody who never saw me as more than a means to an end.
