Alright so I’m a year and a half post divorce. I’m 29, separated at 27 and filed right after. My marriage was a failed relationship and never should have gotten married. I did, 6 months, did not end well.
Anyway, I’m trying to get back into things. Just seem to struggle connecting with anyone. In my situation where have people felt more success?
Girls younger than me are too immature. Want to get married but for the wrong reasons (like I did).
Girls older than me have that biological timeline with kids or marriage. Feeling they have missed out.
Girls my age not married have been very career oriented and have become successful but want to be in charge. Some sort of missed hierarchy that they are pursuing.
EDIT: sorry to offend anyone that felt attacked here. Go after your career, I hope you get it. I was implying a few specific examples where this category of people were on the path to being really successful and I hope they get there. However it was very apparent dating them was about status for them. Demanded how they thought I should dress, act, what church I went to with them, and no way around it. Like “I’m here because this is what I’ve done and you’re either doing it with me or not.” Relationships aren’t about status and that’s all I felt to them. A status for them.
Divorced people my age (which surprisingly is a lot) either have kids with bad dad’s (which the kids don’t bother me) OR they just have some major baggage, ORRRRR they are going through some sort of missed Hoe phase.
Has anyone been in my situation and found a higher success of connection building with a certain demographic?
