Today I missed my son’s award ceremony. His team won a big event and they were being recognized by the Mayor. I’ve missed others but this one hit me especially hard. Since the divorce, I tried to make special efforts to be there for the kids. Of course the ex was there for him. I apologized and said we would go out for a special dinner. He said it was ok, but I just really feel badly for missing it.
