rant/vent

Summary: been separated 5 months. Gave her proposed settlement two months after moving out. She was ok with it and my lawyer said it was generous. I did the one thing I said I'd do financially before we went forward with her signing agreement and proceeding legally to terminate. We've been getting along after initial mild drama when I moved out (been present at holiday functions for kids/grands without drama and so on). Now she's dragging her feet and I'm needing to make the next move in the process.

The problem is that I've gotten comfortable where I am now. I have my own place. I do what I want when I want. We don't have any drama and I like that. Avoiding drama is what kept me married so damn long in the first place.

Guess I just have to bite the bullet and make the next step. I've got things I want to do financially and otherwise that I cannot do while legally married--otherwise does not mean a relationship. I'm not asking for advice--lawyer has spelled out all options. Just need to get up the gumption I used when I moved out.

32 years ago my late mother told me I needed to worry about myself more than I do. I need to listen to her before I croak.

Thanks for listening. It's appreciated.
