Hi all. First post here.. I am hopefully nearing the end of my divorce thats been ongoing over a year for my 5.5 year marriage. No kids. Stbx had an illness in 2020-2021 which she stopped working for, but she always said she was going back to work, so she never filed for unemployment.  Since I discovered her affair, and we started the divorce process, she claims she is physically unable go back to work. She ghosted me and our mediator and hired an attorney. Our main asset is our home that her parents gifted to the BOTH of us a few years ago(post-marital); its worth >$600k with \*no mortgage*\**. The marital portions of my retirement/savings accounts are worth about $400k(not much is pre-marital), and all the pre-marital cash I had in savings went into the renovations of the house(my contribution to reno was $130k).

Weekly, I send her a generous, temporary spousal support(I know but I signed something from her attny early on as advised by my previous attorney... screwed me), as well as paying all the bills and property taxes(same agreement)

We live in a state that takes into account the reason for the breakdown of the marriage. And I have her on record admitting she lied about going to her moms house for the weekend, when she actually traveled to a completely different state to see and stay w/her ex. Even admitted to sleeping in his bed but "nothing happened".

We had pre-trial and my attorney told me that apparently the judges recommendation for resolution was another 2 yrs alimony, I sign over the house to her(>$600k), and then she also gets half of all my accounts with credit for the money I put into the renovations a couple of years ago.. So on top of the house, with everything else, I would have to fork over another ~$150k to her.

Since then, after many months, my attorney all of a sudden thinks we have no case and this is a great deal. I think its almost the worst possible deal. I know I am being played, but does anyone have any similar experience to share? I know it depends on the judge(we will not be assigned the one from pre-trial), but im trying to think if I should cave and settle, or if theres still hope if I spend the money to take it to trial(scheduled for October), and get a more reasonable deal.

Thank you
