I believe that’s pretty cut and dry as it’s in her name and you’re not listed as a co-signer. If you had an unwritten agreement that you were helping her and she makes less money than you, I suppose that could be come a contentious point in the proceedings. But in terms of actual ownership, it’s her name on the loan, not yours.

What a bum expecting you to pick up the tab; you are totally off the hook for that if your name isn't on any of the loan paperwork. The only way you would get tagged is if you were a co-signer for private loans like what a lot of grad students end up taking on to get advanced degrees.

Nope. She brought that into the marriage and she can take it with her. Plus, it should be in her name only. Unless your lawyer is complete shit, he should ensure that you avoid any liability with it.

No - if acquired before the marriage its all on her. And even if it was during the marriage YOU dont get the education/degree.

The only time one could make the case is if they are paying someone support via their income from the degree.
