During my recently concluded mediation , my STBX stipulated that i maintain life insurance to cover my obligation in the event of my death which i successfully negotiated out of the agreement.

Now i love my son, i definitely want him taken care of but there is something that vexes me about having my ''estate '' albeit meager subject to division by the state. I am told by my lawyer that this is ''standard texas divorce code'' language.

What about the other parent? Is this the default of ALL child support / divorce agreements?The MSA does not have this language.

To me this is crazy, i thought women were equal, how do most men not know this?
