Hi all, this is just an appreciation post. I’ve posted a couple of times but read a lot of posts and got a lot of positivity and knowledge from this group. Still in the divorce process which isn’t exactly going quickly nor fairly as far as I am concerned, still trying to figure out attorneys and which ones are good/ bad … This group has provided much support, which unfortunately I don’t have. In the US for 27 years and married 22 years but from the UK. Was in a marriage that basically became abusive. Had no friends or family to provide any sort of impartial input, slowly over time was made to think badly of them which is so far from the truth - slowly minimized amount of time I spoke to them and truly lost myself in focusing on trying to make my STBX happy, it was never enough. Maybe codependency or just a desire to honor my vows? I have kids and step kids in the US but miss the UK(friends and family mainly), in a state that I have to be in due to work vs probably where I’d like to be. So many decisions to make and think of but now starting to also realize so many possibilities. Early 50’s and not exactly where I thought I’d be in life, but here I am. In some respects I am learning lessons that I had to, to grow, better late than never. Taking one day at a time. Using the advice shared here and like so many of you, trying to figure who I am now, and sometimes where did the old me go? Some days are good some not so, however the days are getting better and I know I am doing the right thing.

Appreciate all the folks providing guidance and support. This kind of forum or community is hard to find locally, so keep up the great work. Thanks…
