I have been married for 10 years. We have always have challenges in our relationship but have muddled thru things. My wife suffers from depression and at times was physically and verbally abusive. For years I suffered with her emotionally putting me down because I felt bad for her and wanted to help and support her. Last year in the midst of quarantine she was temporarily laid off. She told me she wanted to go on a road trip with her friend (female/lesbian). I consented to let her go and she went for a month. When she came back she was even closer w this friend and while I do not believe my wife is a lesbian she is definitely getting emotional support from this friend perhaps filling a void where she wasn't getting it from me. We have have problems for years as I have mentioned. In Nov. I came home and she had packed my bags for me and essentially gave me no choice but to move out. Now we are looking at divorcing and from a financial standpoint I stand to lose a lot. Seems unfair. I was the one who was working. I was the reponsible one who was saving money and paid for our house and car. Now she gets to live in our place with her "friend". And take me for half our assets and our savings. Now I live in a single room w no kitchen. Like I said. All a but unfair. Do I have any recourse here? I would like just to split amicably and go our separate ways. Is this possible?
