Sorry all, just having a long night.... I needed to get my mind off of things and I have been binge watching a series called All American and got a sick feeling in my stomach. I try to not watch shows that have nothing to do with divorce or family disfunction as it just becomes not an escape for me and makes me think about how screwed up things have gotten.

I read so many posts in this community and I am so hurt by so many men that end up having the same story. Taken for everything, struggling to get by, moving home to their parents to restart while the ex is well compensated and supported. It is just such a shame how many of us and I truly believe their is a lot of us that are great men. I also know there are men that sometimes deserve this also from their own wrong doings....

Anyway, I am watching this show and basically the premise without giving away details, do not want to spoil it, is about a man that basically left his two sons for 8 years and the struggle his boys go through. There is a lot of twists and turns but the fact of the story is that this man left because his wife had an affair and he could not cope with it, it destroyed him. In no way should a man not have contact with his children from the actions of his relationship but I could actually understand that man's pain. There was a scene when he is begging his kids and his ex to be back in their lives as he has taken the steps to recover and she blames him for not being there and he has no right to come back into their lives. It made me sick.

Cheating in a marriage should be punishable. You cheat on a test, your taxes, at work or whatever else there is consequences. But in the world of family law it is what it is. This to me is bull shit. You can do whatever you want, then ask for everything on the way out the door is a joke. Why do we allow this as a society? Besides the emotional toll it takes on a person, you then have to deal with the financial beating all at the same time and be expected to be at 100%. Actually you have to be at 200% because you need to be better than ever to make up for all the loss to get back on track.

Sorry, I just feel bad for all the men that have to fight through this and work harder than ever to get back to some sort of normalcy after this. Just hate the fact we get gutted like a fish and men should be protected and it is time for women to be treated as equals in this whole thing...
