The "misogyny kills, misandry irritates" lie was declared by Saint Margaret Atwood, and the herd has been mindlessly bleating it ever since.

Nevermind that misandry does kill. Nevermind that "irritation" is a valid reason to take a stand against bigotry.

Do gendered insults like "bitch" actually kill? If they merely irritate, then why has such language policing occasionally become the cause du jour among women? And if such causes are valid for women, then why not for men? Would a single, consistent standard be too much to ask for?

If they think verbal hatred based on prejudice is okay, then people like these should accept, for example, me openly hating on women in their presence. It's only irritating, so I presume this logic applies here?

It's like saying that black people kill asian people more, so me being asian means that I can rob random black people on gunpoint or steal from them. Because it's comparatively not really that bad, right? Sick women with zero basic decency or humanity in them. They would be very successful Nazi members, because now they can argue away almost literally anything. If they kill a person, it doesn't matter, because men do it more to women, right? What a moral code.

I wish people like OOP put even the smallest bit of effort into actually researching men's issues instead of immediately hopping in with the most braindead thought-terminating cliches possible, but I guess that's asking for too much because it'd mean having to actually challenge what they want to believe in.

It gets so fucking annoying and boring having to hear the same handful of phrases designed solely to dismiss/downplay misandry that are obviously not true, but are still regurgitated all the damn time anyways like a broken record because misandrists don't want to admit their bigotry is very much a part of the problem with society.

Women are rarely ever killed, raped or kidnapped because of misogyny. Most women are killed by people they know because of personal reasons. Rape is not motivated by hatred of women and same with kidnapping. Men are more likely to be violently assaulted by strangers, meaning it’s more likely that it is because of their gender.

Hi, I was sexually trafficked as a child by 4 women. Misandry not only got me trafficked, raped, and torture, but then also get no justice for what I went through. Men are killed in army (even in peace time) where women aren't drafted. Men are killed on wars where women aren't sent. Men are killed on streets because their lives are valued less. Men are shot by police because they are considered more dangerous. Men are murdered by their partners because DV laws protect only women. Men kill themselves because nobody gives a fuck about how they feel. Men die on their jobs because they are expected to risk their lives while women keep safe. In some countries only male homosexuality is legally prosecuted. In some countries gay men are put to death while gay women get temporary prizon sentence. In some countries only a woman can be considered as a rape victim. From ancient times to present days it's common practice of war to let women go and kill only men in conquered areas.

On the other hand, it takes a lot of time to find an example of misogyny that actually kills.

in the present misogyny is a more well known issue but misandry and misogyny both mean treating the other gender as inferior so they’re the same just because one is a more well known issue now doesn’t mean misogyny is worse in fact due to the way nobody cares if someone is misandrist it will likely become much worse in ten years
