Why does it matter?

Some men won't be cool with a woman who has been with even 3 men, whilst some are going to say their breaking point is 10.

I think the people who are worried about body counts feel like theirs isn't high enough and don't want to feel like the person they're with is having an easier time than they did with respect to getting sexual attention.

I think if it's something a man worries about, then he should either focus himself on getting a count that he's comfortable with before starting a long term relationship or question whether he can psychologically accept the fact that his partner may have had an easier time getting casual sex than him and accept it and move on. Its an issue that will ultimately undermine any relationship if not processed.

Please stop thinking in absolutes, please. I think the fact that you're here is proof that you are open to different perspectives and I think that's amazing. But I just had to address this. My comment below doesn't answer your question exactly but I hope you give it a chance.

Start viewing women as humans before you think of them as women and do the same for yourself (assuming you're a man). Really ask yourself if the patterns you think you're noticing are real and why you think "women" and "men" are each a certain way. And it's one thing to be curious about this in general and it's another to let this be sth that's burnt into your brain so it impacts your relationships. Idk how you are irl obviously, but if you are in a relationship with someone, who they were with in the past is mostly none of your business. This applies to all parties. It's natural to be curious but we control a lot of urges. We don't pluck food out of someone else's plate when we go to a restaurant and a stranger's order looks better. We also wait till we go to the toilet to pee, a learned behaviour.

A lot of differences do exist between men and women but a lot of them is because of social conditioning and external factors, not necessarily biology. Truth is, most of us don't know how having the bodies we have impacts our general behaviour. Specialists would obviously know more but ask yourself where the layperson is getting the confidence to make such bold claims about wide swathes of the population. Bigotry and personal beliefs has influenced the work of men who had the chance to spread their ideas tot he mass public and we, even if we don't realise it, have internalised a lot of the messages from past times without examining them.
