Some women are shallow, but not all, just like men. I mean, the majority of guys under the age of 33 are in sexual relationships, so I don't see her point. Most women aren't as shallow as her.

I digged a really into this shit, and just a 5 minute search has made me see that you're making a big deal out of this.

First, she never said why those under 33 year olds were "useless". In past interviews she mentions that “men in their 20s are very confident and cocky, and women are super insecure”. She may not like dudes in their 20s because they find them too "dude bro" cocky types to date.
Second, she's vastly taken as a "cougar", having dated a 24 year old at 42 and so forth. Isn't TRP all about "Look what they do, not what they say ~~unless it somehow pre-confirms my red pill views~~ "
Secondly, i already new that JLo was a tremendous douche, the fact that she would actually mean something like this would never surprise me.
You're gonna need way more than a couple of examples on the internet to be sold on this. I'm guessing you, as a 20 year old, have dated women before. If you didn't, you don't get a say on any of this as you're too inexperienced.

I mean...depending on your age there is of course a group of people that are „useless“ to you. JLo is in her mid 50s I think, so it’s pretty healthy for her to not prey on young men. I am 27 and would never date anyone younger than 23.

Calling them useless is a bit offensive and wrongly worded but that doesn’t change the fact that humans enter different stages in their lifes depending on how old they are. For example a man in his 30s that already worked for some time and is somewhat ready to settle shouldn’t be dating a girl in her college years. Those worlds collide and drama will definitely happen.

I'd literally never heard about this statement until now because it turns out the people in my social circles (online and irl) dgaf about what Jennifer Lopez says? Like, why would I take dating advice from her? That's a weird choice.

So no, I didn't see anyone women arguing against it because... none of us cared enough to even see it, let alone waste energy disagreeing.

But for what it's worth, I am a woman and I think that's complete bullshit. I suspect many of my female friends would feel the same way. In no small part because some of us are/were dating men under 33 who we don't consider to be 'useless'.

You're extrapolating one piece of 'advice' (terrible advice) from one celebrity and the fact that some women are agreeing (apparently, I haven't looked into it) or at least aren't vocally opposing it (either because they don't know about it or think it's too stupid to bother debunking, I'd imagine) and decided that it's the opinion of the 'general population of women'. Nah, plenty disagree.

One thing I don't understand is why you and others need to see people "speak out against it".

I wouldn't ask white boys to speak out against school shooters. I wouldn't ask all muslims to speak out against Muslim terrorists. I wouldn't ask men to apologise and speak out against male rapists. Etc.

Also do you think that silence means automatic agreement? There are plenty of things that you and I see every day that we just ignore because it isn't worth our time. You've focused on some women who show support for something but then generalise that across all women... But why would you ignore all the women who didn't say anything or haven't even seen this? Surely you don't think every woman must speak out against it or else they believe it? And that what some people say is suddenly what most of them might say? I could find something about what a guy said and show men supporting it. I wouldn't then say, 'all men support this' . I wouldn't say 'most' men support this. But I might say some men support this, and then recognise that there are other men who may or may not support it and the sample isn't large or representative enough to show this. The 'it's generalising' for thee but not for me thing that redpill has is so obvious yet most of them can't see it.

Edit: also this was dating advice for a 29year old woman. Redpillers feed themselves dumb dating advice and worldviews on women all the time but when others do, it's bad. You don't like being called out on it, I get that, but deflecting to "But but the female sex do it too!" is an embarrassingly defensive response. So much hypocrisy.

It's a good thing you've brought this up (because shit like this wasn't just concocted by Reddit losers, it's a common socially conservative viewpoint held by a substantial fraction of the population). I don't think it's helpful to just dismiss out of hand. Luckily the answer is quite simple.

The US (where, presumably, most of JLo's audience is located) is an extremely unequal country, with social programs such as public housing, healthcare, and higher education limited at best. In particular, there's no publicly funded childcare or maternity leave, meaning that women have less earning potential for themseves---and in a two-parent nuclear household such as is common in the US, there's no familial or community support for childcare either, and the burden falls disproportionately on the mother.

In such a situation, why would people not look for spouses with high earning potential? And given that (with society as it is) women lose earning potential by having children, why would they not care more about this than men? It's from these material facts---not some inherently evil "biological female nature" that the manosphere talks about---that male providership and the like spring from. I don't think the women are really getting a net benefit here, no matter how much TRP/social conservatives think this is the case. Clearly there are much better ways to run society, in ways that will benefit everyone.

And btw, this is of course anecdotal---but I've noticed that in Canada (a country culturally similar to the US, but with a much more robust safety net) there's a lot less antagonism between the sexes.

The age of 33 sounds like an arbitrary number. That's kind of dumb.

In general, human brains aren't done developing until like the age of 25. So both men and women don't really settle into their lives and know who they are until approximately that age.

As for earning potential and being able to provide for oneself... this economy in the USA is fucked up so I don't blame anyone in their 20s for having a hard time doing so. Men and women both. People don't graduate college/finish job training and find a steady job until their mid 20s. Some people find a perfect career track right after high school, something like a trade or the military that sets them up for a long time. But that's not everyone.

The only truly useless people are NEET's who have zero drive to do anything whatsoever. (I'm not including people with disabilities in this.) Even bagging groceries at a store, paid dog walking, or being a delivery driver is better than nothing.

I agree with some if this. It was t until I was 30 that I took my career life and love life More seriously. In my twenties I just went to school did drugs tried a few jobs, just slam random girls travel the world I wish I did it differently but I had fun. Now I hardly drink don’t smoke am super fit trying to build more connections in relationships. I also have a good job. It works out quite well many guys I find who worked hard in their twenties end up having breakdowns in their 30s enjoy life fellas
