Full disclosure: I've never been part of trp and this post isn't exactly about trp or romantic relationships. I'm trying to see understand relationships with women from a realistic perspective because until now my understanding was very loosely similar to that of TRP. I apologize if this thread is breaking any rules because it should it does contain some specific information and should belong on relationship advice or something, but I feel like I can expect somewhat realistic answers/perspective from this sub mainly because of posts like this.

Brief background: Emotionally broken & immature young guy with little to no experience with women. Recently ruined a 2-month old but amazing friendship I had with a woman because (I think) I had a mental breakdown and dumped my emotions on her in a rare moment of weakness. I'm certain that I came off as clingy which might have spooked her. In truth, I was (and still am) in love with her and I was jealous that she preferred to have fun with her new friends while I was reduced to being her emotional crutch & doing boring things (from my perspective) with her. She told me that I was going too fast ,that we need to take a break and that she could no longer consider me a close friend.

What I'm trying to understand is, if showing your weakness to women is ok (in contrast to what trp preaches) then generally speaking, how long does it take to build a relationship where having a mental breakdown like I did or even opening up to a girl wouldn't be considered repulsive or too fast? Since the end of my friendship a few days ago, I've grown a lot and I finally understand how relationships are supposed to work, but unfortunately I've no perspective of time as far as progress in relationships are concerned. I understand that there is no fixed answer, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that I thought being considered a close friend and 2 months was a reasonable amount of time for these things to be acceptable. It clearly wasn't according to her but that begs the question, after how much time is it reasonable to expect your partner to be there for support or when it's normal to be upset that you're not part of their "plans" but someone they claim to not like as much is (which seems like double standard to me).
