Hi everyone, I posted here not too long ago and a lot of people mentioned that I may have some cognitive dissonance going on. As a result I've been trying to not let my biases blind me to whatever reality may be, and try to see things objectively so I might realize that I was incorrect about how things work. I've also been visiting this sub frequently to try to bake in this idea that women aren't what I think they are and that I've built up this false malicious image of them.
Which all sounds healthy, but its sort of just, not working? I still keep seeing things everywhere that just objectively confirm my pre-existing beliefs. And I tried to take it in stride and try to think rationally but I sort of lost all hope after a conversation at work.
My coworker told me that she went on a date recently. This was news because she's married, but her husband is in jail... So she goes on this date and she talks about how he was really nice, bought her A FUCKING AIR CONDITIONER, paid for a nice dinner, has a high paying job, a good relationship with his kids, and is very muscular and in shape. She said though that she thinks, after all this, that he is too short for her. And she might consider a relationship with him if he can pay for a vacation for her.
This sounds like the most ridiculous thing ever. Yet here I am, surrounded by professional woman, with only 1 woman seemingly annoyed by what she was saying.
So, what am I supposed to think? The woman around me seem hell-bent on persuading me that men are only good for what they provide. The fact that this man was a good person had absolutely nothing to do with her decision. It was only to see if she could squeeze more out of him, or to think that he didn't meet some measurable physical requirements. And I don't mean to belittle anyone, but this woman is not in any position to be this picky with men. She is generally not a good person, relies on others for everything including transportation. She has the baggage of a violent husband in jail (not prison, jail. As in he could get out on bail at any time) and multiple children. She is overweight and unattractive.
And with all this, the dating market dictates that she gets free stuff, and a man to provide everything for her, and its still not good enough. And the sample of woman I have tend to agree.
And not only in real life do I see this, I see it everywhere. Reddit, youtube, tiktok, tv, movies. Men just being seen as resources, that romantic gestures are monetary, and that nothing should be expected of women, their presence is already the gift.
Its just so crushing to me. And if its not clear by my posts, I don't want red pill rhetoric to be true. I just find it to be. You guys were mostly helpful on my last post, but I'm finding it hard to believe you guys when you say that these are a small minority of women. It doesn't seem to be that way. If anything, my experiences show that its an overwhelming majority of women showing narcissistic and sociopath tendencies when it comes to relationships.
The idea of being in a relationship with a woman who loves me for me, and not the success or wealth I fall into, seems more a fairy tale than reality. I don't see it anywhere. I'll never be loved for being me.
I don't really know why I'm here again. I guess I just want to be wrong. Been feeling like I am just holding on lately.
