Because years ago, when this rule was made, dumbass redpillers would come here and claim they weren't supporting the red pill, they just followed JP and would push his content.

I think it just got annoying for the mods so they niped it on the bud.

In the years since then JP embraced the red pill dude-bros for a bit, but now they've kind of rejected him. Sometime in the last year or so it became a big meme that he tells young men to clean their rooms and have discipline but his office is in total disaray when he makes videos. He also intermittently turns on and rants about his allies like Musk and Joe Rogan.

He's also an all around piece of shit who happened to publish some very important findings in Psychology a long time ago.

He's disingenuous about his political ideologies. That is, he states his views in an ambiguous manner so that he never has to be held accountable to them. Which in an of itself isn't the most terrible crime, but it becomes an issue when you are asserting yourself as a public figure who critiques socio-political discourse. He wants to have the cake of having followers but doesn't want to have to be held to critical analysis. This is not acceptable for a political figurehead who can influence millions of people like he has.

Having followers = having power = having responsibility = being held to a higher standard of integrity and responsibility.

It's not evil to be private or selective about airing your political leanings. You do you. But to then go public with critiques about opposing political view points without being concrete about your views is the height of hypocrisy. I don't know about you, but most people don't respect hypocrites and therefore don't respect him either.

The problem is whenever a post about him is made, its very difficult to tell when a person genuinely doesn't realize Peterson for what he is or if they are being disingenuous AKA JAQing (just asking questions) off. Furthermore, people who like him use the logical fallacy of appeal to authority (his credentials as a psychologist) to refute any critical analysis of him.

You don't need Peterson, none of the actually helpful things he's said (how to be productive member of society) is unique to him. But his followers fixate on him because he's an articulate sounding, suit wearing white guy saying it, as opposed to anyone who's also said the same thing. (It goes without saying there's nothing wrong with being a white guy, I listen to plenty myself, the problem is when you dismiss the same exact messaging from someone who's not, usually because they aren't white or a man).

Consequently, discussing Peterson becomes waste of time for anyone who values intellectual integrity.

So to save precious time, he's banned in a lot of subs that value integrity and accuracy.

Because Jordan Peterson pushes misogynistic, transphobic and toxic ideas of masculinity and gender which are not healthy for anyone. He is one of the most prominent voices in the manosphere, because he is (sort of) a psychologist or something and somehow seems qualified. In reality, he talks utter crap and pushes the same lies that any other red pill guru does.

I'm going to give you some homework. Here is a video that digs into Jordan Peterson's philosophy. At no point does it attack his person, take cheap shots, or set out to prove him wrong.

But if you're truly curious it's a half hour well spent digging into Peterson's work in an entertaining way.
