What's funny is that in military basic training, one of the first concepts drilled into the heads of recruits is to clean up after oneself. Leaving scraps and garbage behind can help the enemy track you!

I will find it extremely alarming if a man I date will tell me that if he'll ever need to murder he knows how to get away with it... Men who (nearly) get away with murder just have to clean up, because there's no woman nearby to do it for them if they act mean/helpless enough about it. Or at least no living woman.

They should create a dating app where this is basically one of the key questions - do you clean after yourself, and have people vouch for you. We're not talking about occasionally a shirt on a chair; quite literally in almost every relationship I've had to pick up undies, do dishes, you name it. I won't do it, and I've had too many fights where I have partners not get it. Too many slobs - I won't even have a relationship with them now. They want a mommy they can go call her on Sunday. I'm a goddamn Goddess, not your mommy. Learn the difference.

It's crazy to me that he's never cleaned anything before he met you. It's like not knowing how to wash a dish or use the microwave. My 7-year old cousin can do it.
He knows how to wash a dish or use a microwave. He's just an not attentive or skillful housekeeper, but he will in time.

It's not affecting my health. He's learning. Not everyone was taught or learned how to clean well. I have high standards of housekeeping, and he is working to meet those because he knows its important to me. I also have my own living room in our house (we each have one) and the kitchen is spotless everynight.
Loads of men who are good at cleaning are also shitty people. Relationships are about compromise, especially relationships with men. He chooses to fix his habits and work to meet my standards because he cares about me and respects me.

Because he's shitty at cleaning which means he's a bad man, I guess.I think the vast majority of men are terrible at cleaning, and he has enough good qualities and I am happy so I see this re-education as the cost of doing business, so to speak. I know that's controversial here, here we hold out for a unicorn man who is a good house keeper and also a good everything else. I have a different view. His cleaning skills can be fixed. They are being fixed, he is otherwise a good person and partner.
Edit: kind of fucked up that my flair was changed from newbie to at risk pickme youth from one comment. 1. I'm not a youth 2. I'm a man hating radfem 3. Unfortunately HVM aren't perfect like we like to parrot they are here. They are still men.
