Basically I met this guy a few weeks ago randomly through a friend of a friend of a friends and we hit it off instantly. He’s handsome, we have the same sense of humour, political leanings and hobbies. He lives a little bit of the way, but not so much that it’s a complete deal breaker. He had to leave the function somewhat early, but I asked his friend to pass on my number. He text me the following morning and we have been messaging since.

He asked me for a drink (1) and we met up and it was nice. We did have kiss but nothing more than that. He did not try to come back to my place or push anything. We continue to text afterwards. He asks me out again but no firm plans are made or any attempt by him to do so. We finally settle on Wednesday after work (still no idea what he wanted he had in mind for the date) and in the afternoon he asks if we can reschedule because of an injury he picked up and a early work meeting the next day (2). I said yes because whatever, shit happens and I was exhausted anyway. I told him I’m free Sunday and Monday and to let me know; he confirms he’s also free. This was Wednesday. We text in between then and Saturday. Saturday night I have to text him to ask if we are still on for Sunday (3).

I receive no response until 1.30pm Sunday saying he’s hungover and Monday would be better (4). It is Monday morning and I have not responded. I just feel like there’s zero effort being put forward here. Nothing is being planned, there’s no thought process or even care now. Who lets someone hang on a day and then “cancels” on said day? I’m kind of unlucky with dating, so it’s sad that someone I feel like I connected a bit with is making me feel this way. Am I overreacting or is he being kind of a dick?
