Traditionally, when asked a question, you answer, and then ask your own. That way both sides get to get information they are interested in. If the conversations starts to turn out in a way you don't like, you can tell them you are not interested any more.

I hate guys (and people in general) who do this, there's no real substance and emotion in the response, and they don't ask you questions at all (the whole purpose of chatting is to get to know each other?) do not piggyback off on your response, its like they expect you to interview them? Meaningful conversations should have a nature balance and flow. It is hard to continue a conversation when all you've got are short/boring factual replies. And the worst thing is that they don't know how awful they are at conversations. Lost cost.

I hate to be the kind of person that says they hate small talk, but I really do. It’s absolutely pointless on OLD. It’s not the same thing as exchanging pleasantries with your coworker or your server at lunch. I’ve actually been called negative when I explained that I’m not going to be honest when you ask how I’m doing nor do I want to be lied to about how someone else is doing.
Can we just figure out if we are looking for the same thing and are minimally compatible? Can you then just ask me out?

That's what I want and what I think they want too.
Sometimes I feel like I'm on a job interview and I don't want the job. I have so much to say about everything, but here they go with these interview questions and it's completely one sided, so I get bored and just want to unmatch so it will stop haha.

God I hate this! Why don’t you actually try to have a conversation? Recently I’ve gotten guys straight up saying, “Ask me questions?” Like we weren’t just having a conversation about our shared interests two texts ago. I’m still a newbie to it, but FDS has taught me to quickly unmatch and block these unimaginative losers so thank you ladies 🙏🏼
