I just moved to a house that needs some work so have been having all the fun with various tradesmen (I’d prefer tradespeople but it’s 100% male here). It’s pretty standard in the UK to get 2-4 quotes for jobs and pick based on price, availability and not being a complete and utter wankbadger (the last is my own category encapsulating stupidity, misogyny and laziness). I’m getting through my list but am having to deal with sulky manlets wanting to argue when they don’t get the job.

I used to feel bad when I got bratty messages in response when I said thanks for quoting but I’ve gone with someone else but now I immediately bloke and delete. Nobody gets the benefit of the doubt. Your bad day, bad mood, whatever is not my responsibility to salve.
