Yes ma’am! I want to go back and tell my younger self that because I focused so much on duds who not even on my level. I bogged myself down over a barely functioning LDR when I was at the beginning of my college career. He didn’t care that I dumped him and I had a mental breakdown (partially for other reasons) and while he was being a loser in Loserville with his new, enabling girlfriend, I got clear on my ambitions in college and started racking up internship experience and building my portfolio.

Sadly, I ruined my planned graduation after I got dumped by a different dude 3 years later. Dumped by a bum who had no job, no clear goals on his school work and wanted to smoke weed and do drugs all day. But I was heartbroken even though I was working a paid internship (which was rare at the time and in my city), activity looking for full time work and finishing my last 3 classes. Heaven forbid that! I failed my classes because I was “heartbroken.”

But that’s okay though, I fought. I got that full time job and got my degree 3.5 years, out of state tuition (paid for my then company 🤗) and a cross country move later.

I now have my own home, pay my own bills, work for a global company and am single, working on myself. I wish I had taken selective, casual dating more seriously back then.

I remember 20 old me dating 10 years older traveler, he wanted me to join him, go to Australia to do some seasonal jobs, like picking fruits. He knew I was finally accepted to my dream University and was about to start, and he still had the audacity to persuade me, telling me why his idea was better. I'm so proud I said no.

It’s no accident that women have their lives derailed by so-called love right when they’re at their goals. Men who know they will never be anything seek out women who are above them and love bomb them and then when the goal is in sight, pull the rug out from under their feet to ruin their chances at being successful. The right issue at the wrong time can effectively derail your life for years. It happened to me in college and I can’t count the number of girls and women I know who have had their lives ruined like this. The guy knocked her up and pretty much forced her to keep the baby. He broke up with her and left them homeless during finals and unable to concentrate. Cheated on her during her boards. On and on and on and on. Love is energetically expensive and a huge waste of time. Get your money up
