I'd also argue that if his number comes up smaller, you've actually "paid more" by doing all that labor to set everyone in the household up for success.

Then I'd promptly argue divorce. Don't let a dude trample all over you with I EaRn MoRe when the cards are stacked in his favor, especially if he has the audacity to expect you to invest more time and energy on self maintenance, chores, etc

I will forever be so thankful that I grew up with a HVM father. I could write a giant post about him, but really he just got it and set my standards so high. He was genuinely amazing to my mother and I, and to top it off, did all of the cooking and cleaning ;)
