So true... Especially if it is just some super generic apology "oh my god, i am so sorry, i will be better, i promise.. " blablalbla. If somebody truly wants to apolgize, they dont just say it. They will tell exactly what kind of measurements they are going to take to change - and then do it!!

Or worse yet, the “apology” that blames you for their behavior ... for example “I’m sorry I said those things to you, but you were causing drama for no reason.”

(Usually said after they reacted poorly to you rightfully calling them out on their bullshit)

YES! I just went through this with a friend of mine. Gave me the "I'm sorry, but..." multiple times about the same thing and yet continued the same bad behavior. I am starting to see this as a red flag in general.

"I'm sorry YOU FEEL..."

Ex was a pro at plausible deniability and the above sentence starters were the closest he ever came to apologizing. He was more into rationalizing his behavior and somehow blaming me for it before calling me crazy or telling me I had emotional problems because I was upset. I fell so hard into the trap.
