I'm new to this subreddit and I am so happy to have found it! I've made some dating choices that I realize were mistakes after reading everything here. I'd love some feedback on whether you all think I'm dealing with a HVM or LVM.

I (32 F) met this guy (32 M) on a dating app at the end of February. He's tall, handsome, has a great job, lives in a nice place by himself, always pays for me, always plans the dates. We did mess around quite a lot after the first date and started sleeping together after that. We went on several dates before the quarantine started, and in that time, I noticed he wasn't a good texter. I'd try to banter with him or expect him to want to talk to me at least a little between dates, but it always petered out after a few messages. I brought up to him early on that I noticed he wasn't a big texter, and he mentioned people had brought that up to him before. He said he didn't have any social media, so he didn't have a reason to be on his phone all the time, and that he'd just set it down and forget about it for long stretches because he works long hours and is just busy. I noticed he turned on read receipts soon after, presumably to let me know that he hadn't seen my text, not that he was ignoring me. I was fine with that because he was great in person.

Once the lockdown started, he did start texting me every few days to check in and see how I was doing. We started sexting a bit too, and of course THEN he kept the conversation going and would send a ton of messages in a row during those bouts, but every other topic fizzles out fast. I've wondered if someone is into you, wouldn't he want to talk to you even if he's not usually into texting?

I've seen him twice since the lockdown - we slept together both times. Before the first time, he'd volunteered thoughts about how our first date was special, and other things I wouldn't think someone just in it for sex would say because there was no prospect of us meeting up at that point. After the first time, I voiced my concern about him just wanting sex, and I gave him an easy out so he'd be more likely to admit he wanted to keep things physical, if that was the case. He told me he loves my company and always has a great time with me and that it's not all about sex. He's since told me in different ways that he's not seeing anyone else, not sleeping with anyone else, that I'm the only person he wants to see while we're quarantined, and that he wants to continue seeing me after life goes back to normal. I felt like we bonded a little more the second time I saw him (last weekend), but he hasn't texted me since except to respond to a little joke I sent him. I'm definitely not seeing him this weekend either way, but would love feedback on what it seems I'm dealing with.

TLDR:
I'm (32 F) having trouble reconciling his (32 M) words with his lack of communication. I'm not sure if it's too early to expect him to talk to me so much, or if I'm being played. Is he a HVM who values in person interactions over texting? Or is he a LVM using me for sex?
