Could be couple lots of reasons:

-lost interest in you

-working on another girl

-was just toying you

-breadcumbing you

-trying to "game" you

The reason doesn't matter - he's not worth your time. Move on to greener pastures. Don't let him ""family emergency"" it out of this one.

2 Things for future reference:

Texting/online talking without any actual plans to meet up IRL creates false intimacy. He maybe talking to you and maybe 10 other women. It’s so easy to just text and requires very little effort. It’s cool to get to know each other a bit before going on a date but don’t spend your time focusing on that type of communication if there aren’t any solid plans.
Closure isn’t a real thing. Nothing went wrong and you didn’t do anything wrong. It just didn’t work out. Closure is just an excuse to beat yourself up and feel like you’re not good enough. You are good enough but for whatever reason it didn’t work out with this guy. And that’s ok!

You went to the party, had a good time, talked to a good looking dude for a little and now it’s time for the next.

i would always take mixed signals as a no. if someone is truly interested, they do make it clear straight away. and there are tons more guys out there who would treat you this way :)

If he was HVM and interested, you wouldn’t have to ask yourself this question.

If it’s not a “hell yes, wow he must really like me,” it’s probably a no.
