I rarely comment on people's appearance. I try to change that by complimenting women more when I really admire something about them, but I have never had the urge to say something negative about how someone looks to their face. It's something that doesn't even occur to me.

Now reading all the stories here made me realize how often men do it and I'm just speechless. I thought it was just me stumbling into lvms but it seems like a general rule. For me it's a deal-breaker, to be honest. My self-esteem is pretty fragile so when someone who's supposed to be on my side makes negative comments about how I look I just tend to throw the whole person away, because I myself would never do such a thing to someone I'm in love with. I'm not talking about giving someone fashion advice, I'm talking about things that are difficult to change and therefore pretty much a given if you plan to stick with the person. If you find me unattractive, then just don't date me, plain and simple.
