Something like that was a BIG wake-up call in my last relationship.

My friend left the company we had both worked at for 5+ years, and her boyfriend helped plan this amazing going away party to celebrate her.

The thought of my NVM ex doing something even remotely similar was laughable.

I'm glad that you said potential, because it's important to keep in mind that someone doing a few good things doesn't make them high value. It's about consistency and being respectful in every way, not just with big gestures and gifts.

But with that being said, this is really sweet! It's a great way to show he cares and put in effort without even spending money (for all the angry, strawmanning dudes who say FDS doesn't want poor guys to date or that women are only impressed by money - it's about effort and respect, not wealth)

Aw, that's cute! Reminds me of one I saw recently about a guy doing a whole movie theater night in quarantine, or another who bought his gf a switch and animal crossing so they could have "dates" on each other's islands.
