It was infuriating that the judge would not allow evidence of the sexual and physical abuse that Lorena suffered, over a long period of time, due to John Wayne’s abusive behavior toward her.

It is almost like the justice system set it up to make it appear as though she committed an unprovoked, violent act, completely out of left field.

Slightly off topic, but in Nigeria, the penalty for rape is castration. In more of the local and rural areas, the villagers mob and attack the rapist.

Yes!!! And they do it to animals so like why not to men when they behave like one.

And also lately I’ve been considering carrying scissors around and if a scrote harasses me just pull them out and threaten to snip snip. They love their 🤏 more than anything so I feel like that’d be a good deterrent. Then again I worry I’d just get arrested for carrying a weapon 🙄. Like I wasn’t actually gonna do it.

That was an excellent documentary. I was in elementary when that hit the news and all I remember were some vague jokes being made on TV that went right over my head. I’m sure my mom kept the graphic media reports from me. The jokes where all of the “crazy chick” variety and men saying that was a worse fate than death or some bullshit. I didn’t know until seeing the documentary that the “crazy chick” jokes included racist references to her being Latina, which make it even worse. The openly racist, sexist media and Howard Stern joking that Lorena was too ugly to r#pe were disgusting.

What he did to her was nothing short of torture and psychological destruction. He wanted to murder her on that balcony, and I believe after Lorena escaped him that another woman claimed he tortured HER and left her for dead in a different state. The man is a psychopath POS.

That testimony from the nail salon customer was so crucial. She set the record straight as an eye witness to just some of what John Wayne Bobbitt did to Lorena. I’m so glad she stepped forward for Lorena, who was in a foreign country, speaking a second language, was at a huge disadvantage, and he had already traumatized her with endless r#pe, beatings, verbal abuse, and a forced abortion to the point that I’m sure she had PTSD while still struggling to work and keep a roof over their heads for his dishonorably discharged ass. The way he kept writing her letters years later as if nothing had ever happened made my skin crawl. Oh, and no surprises that he ended up doing porn and hanging out with young prostitutes whom he also tried to abuse.
