Love bombing vs Normal interest

Love bombing:

~ Does not respect your boundaries. Sneakily tries to slide past your boundaries. They may have targeted you because they sensed that you have soft boundaries.

~ Wants to communicate more often, and with more intensity, than you are comfortable with. Wants to monopolize your time and energy.

~ Uses words like "soul mate" or "twin flame". Thinks you're the greatest thing since sliced bread, puts you on a pedestal, tells you that you're different from all other women.

~ Future fakes... talks about moving in together, getting engaged, getting married, having a baby. Might try to gauge your reaction to future faking by talking about how all his friends are married and he's a 3rd wheel, how he wants to settle down so bad and so on.

~ Emotional vampire... You feel tired after talking to him. Will emotionally dump on you, will make you feel like you are responsible for his happiness.

~ Bad feeling in your gut... If you have a bad feeling about someone, or if you feel something is "off", listen to that instinct. This is the most important thing, listen to your gut feeling.

My ex love bombed me hard, long story short I ended up getting engaged and pregnant to him really quickly because I believed it was true love and that he was the one, he turned out to be an alcoholic narcissist.

I’m currently getting to know another man romantically and sometimes the lack of grandiose gestures, pedestaling, constant words of affirmation, constant contact, talking about the future etc, has me feeling like he’s not that into me. It’s silly because I know he adores me, he tells me all the time but in much more subtle and healthy ways. Normal interest will feel slow and boring compared to love bombing.

Wow, you opened my eyes here. I could never understand how I got into these relationships with Narcs a it’s because of my own fragile ego and the love bombing catered to that. Thank you! I will be more vigilant in the future.
