My cousin’s wedding took place over the weekend. She and her now husband met about 5 years ago. Really sweet kids, I actually went to school with him for years. He plays music, used to bring his unicycle to school, and once I remember he almost cried when a teacher harshly fussed at me in class, said it hurt his heart.

When he walked in he was already crying. His vows were unrelenting. We were all in tears. Here’s an excerpt:

“Everyday I will earn my keep at the place by your side. Every breath for the rest of my days is taken in devotion to you. You are a blessing on my life and I know I am unworthy.

Every morning I will break my fast with the sight of your beautiful face. It will sustain me through my day in my labor. I will toil the earth each day all to honor you. Each bead of sweat paid in tribute.

At night I will make love to you, my body an offering to your temple. May the god I like to believe in have mercy on me, for I have made you my idol.”
