A couple in a seemingly good relationship of a few years announces their breakup. It turns out they knew from the start that they were not going to last, but decided to take the plunge anyways and enjoy each other’s company while they can. Now the time has come for them to break things off and they are announcing this very casually on their respective social medias.

I did not anticipate to be shocked by dating behaviors after joining this thread, but here I am - stumped. I don’t know why, but this whole situation irks me and won’t settle in my mind. Maybe it’s the fact that I believe you shouldn’t settle for a “good for now” or a “good while it lasts” guy because you’re wasting valuable time spent with yourself. Maybe it’s because you are putting yourself in a relationship with the knight when you could have been out there meeting your King 👑.

Is this a new enlightened way of thinking or some masochistic dating behavior? I can’t help but feel the lady is getting the short end of the stick and that she is being used and undervalued. Why waste her time when you know it’s not going to work?!
