If you think he’s possible just ignorant (again why do we need to teach men) but here are some possible responses:

  1. “I don’t do ____ as dates” then you leave it at that. No explanation, let them come up with better ideas.

  2. “I only do ___ dates with friends” aka if you want to be seen as boyfriend material step up your game.

  3. “I think our ideas of a proper date are different” aka your standards for a date are low, either meet mine or meet the door on the way out.

  4. “Not sure, I used to do ____ dates in high school but now I’m grown” aka your idea of a date is childish and I’m a grown woman who wants a grown man in a grown relationship.

ANY attempt to convince you to lower your standards is met with a block. Insults also. Don’t settle and let these men prove themselves to you. You are the prize.
