Hi, all. If this topic doesn't fit this sub, please delete and redirect me. I just didn't want to post on any mainstream relationship subs and this seemed the most fitting. I'm sorry this is long, but I need to get it off my chest at the very least.

Tl;dr: An unstable guy I dated very briefly nearly two years ago (and haven't spoken to in just as much time), called me 12 times in the middle of the night to tell me he was going to end his life.

This happened Monday night/morning. As far as I know, we're in different time zones, so he was calling from 4AM-5AM his time. I was groggy and kept declining the calls (the number wasn't saved, so I thought it was spam), but at soon as I would decline them, I would get another call. after the ninth call (yes, it took me that long) I blocked it and checked the call history. This is when I realized who it was. I then started recieving calls from a restricted number. I got super freaked out so I woke up my boyfriend who was sleeping next to me. I didn't tell him who I thought it was, so he answered the phone to get the calls to stop. My bf didn't say anything, but after he hung up he told me there was a man on the other end who said "I wanted you to know that I'm about to take my own life". Of course both of us were really distraught about it the next day. My bf said that he wish he'd handled it differently, but neither of us know how. I got two more restricted calls at roughly the same time last night so I think it's safe to say he didn't go through with it.

I'm terrified of this man even though I moved across the country from him. I know that some time before we were together, he had a serious drug problem. Also while we were together he had depression and a severe alcohol and weed problem. He's unstable. When we broke up, he drunkenly threatened to break into my apartment for god knows what reason.

Have any of you gone through something similar? I'm having panic attacks over this even though I don't think he knows where I live or how to find me. Should I just keep ignoring the calls? (I can't block a restricted number). I think what scares me the most is that, after all this time, I still cross his mind to the point that he would call me about this.
